In the case of serious illness, medical care is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
In an emergency:
For life-threatening emergencies you should go to the nearest accident and emergency department, or dial 999.
During surgery opening hours:
If you require urgent medical advice during normal surgery hours (8am to 6:30pm Monday to Friday), you should telephone the surgery as normal. We have a duty doctor who will call you back and help advise about appropriate care. If you have requested a call-back from the doctor, please have your phone number ready and be ready to answer your phone.
When the surgery is closed:
If you require urgent medical attention when the surgery is closed, you should telephone the surgery (01789 840245) - you will be diverted to the Out of Hours Service. This service is run by CareUK who can offer telephone advice, an emergency consultation at one of their local hubs, or a home visit as appropriate.
If you are unsure which service you require:
Patients can always obtain medical advice via the NHS 111 telephone service, or via their online site: 111.nhs.uk. This service is available at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
